FNM: OK in Modern
I can't afford things like the wacky draft (Modern Masters-Innistrad-New Phyrexia), so I was playing constructed. Not enough people for Standard, so I played Modern again. Went 2-2, managing to get paired against all the strongest decks, which made my tiebreaks really good.

The same deck as last time, but with a few tweaks. I decided that Slaughter Games in the board was just not worth trying, so I switched the splash color to green for Become Immense. Then I discovered that I apparently only own 1 copy of said card, even though it's an uncommon and I opened quite a bit of KTK.

The deck:
2 Artful Dodge
1 Become Immense - +1, because I should be using my yard for something
4 Crimson Wisps
4 Gitaxian Probe
4 Kiln Fiend
3 Lava Spike
4 Lightining Bolt
2 Manamorphose
4 Monastery Swiftspear
2 Mutagenic Growth
0 Nivix Cyclops -1, for
1 Nivmagus Elemental +1, because the 3 drop Cyclops is just bad
1 Pact of Negation +1, because it's just good
0 Peek -1, had to cut something
4 Rift Bolt
1 Snapcaster Mage (still only own 1, would probably run a second if I had it)
3 Stubborn Denial, -1, had to cut something, and having 2 in hand always made me sad
2 Temur Battle Rage

0 Blood Crypt -1 cutting black for green
1 Bloodstained Mire -1, because I don't own enough fetches
1 Breeding Pool +1, adding green
1 Island
3 Misty Rainforest
3 Mountain
0 Polluted Delta -1, cutting black
3 Scalding Tarn
3 Steam Vents
1 Stomping ground +1, adding green
0 Watery Grave -1, cutting black
2 Wooded Foothills, +2 better fetches for the deck

sideboard: (heavily reworked)
1 Ancient Grudge
2 Anger of the Gods (wanted this for Elves, didn't see any today)
1 Dismember
4 Ghost Quarter (still my plan against Tron)
1 Pithing Needle
1 Pyroclasm
1 Smash to Smithereens
1 Smelt
3 Surgical Extraction

Match 1, I faced Patrick Smith. He ususally plays R/G Tron, but he was playing U/G Infect today. Game 1, I kicked his face in handily. Game 2, I just didn't have much, and he was able to make a Glistener Elf huge. Game 3, I dropped my 1 of Pithing Needle, naming Inkmoth, and then walked right over him. 1-0. Match 2, Phil Olivarez was playing Scapeshift. I had him down to 1 in game 1, but I flooded like crazy and couldn't finish him. Game 2, I went off and smashed face. Game 3,while I was flooding, he played a Batterskull, 1-1. Match 3, Sam Schoenberg was playing Abzan. I had him fairly low and he got a Siege Rhino game 1. I got there game 2, and then game 3 I got Rhinoed again. 1-2. At this point, looking at the standings, I saw that my 3 opponents had, between the 3 of them, lost only 1 match. My OWM was 88%. Match 4, I played against Brian Chapp, who was playing an Esper control build. Game 1, he buried me in card advantage. Game 2, my deck went off. Played Kiln Fiend turn 2, then turn 3, Lava Spike, Temur Battle Rage. Game 3, I had two Swiftspears out, he had some countermagic, and I managed to draw 3 Gitaxian Probes in a row, and hit a couple of other spells. He tried to Condemn one of the two now huge Swiftspears, and I Stubborn Denialed it, and that trigger made the two Swiftspears lethal. 2-2 overall.
