Arroyo means stream and poco means little, so possibly Arroyo Poco is what you're looking for.

Arroyo poco?

Arroyo may actually mean stream but in the western U.S. it tends to mean a stream BED that is dry most of the time.

Re: Arroyo poco?

"rio" is the word for a live river.

Reverting back to English, there's "streamlet"

Re: Arroyo poco?

I have many pictures of the rio, but this isn't it. I want the sense of "streamlet", but even if "arroyo" is correct in idiomatic Spanish, it sounds wroung because it means something different in English.

My Spanish isn't even up to ordering food in a restaurant, as I proved in Otavalo when the dish I got because "that sounds interesting" turned out to be liver. (Best liver I ever had, but still only marginally edible.)

Re: Arroyo poco?

Well, my spanish is rather unused these days....and those classes were MANY ages ago :)

But you could try "corriente"? If i recall correctly, that was 'stream' in the sense of 'small running current' (as close to streamlet as i can get).

Want to emphasize the little? Corriente pequeña (i think.

BTW - turned out quite well! :) Will dig a bit more when i get home, think i know what box the dictionary is in :)
