Wow! Who's your manicurist? you must have some pretty heavy duty macro equipment to get that close on something that tiny. Nicely done.
Tamron 28-300 lens, plus cropping (those are both way less than the full frame). As a dedicated macro lens, it's a little weak, but for a general purpose lens, it does quite well. I don't think you can do much better in terms of one lens that can take super closeups, long-distance telephoto shots, and scenery, even if you have an unlimited budget. Of course, you can do enormously better in any one of those categories, if you have money and are willing to switch lenses.
