My first thought was that this was likely to be the same wedding I'm attending on Saturday, June 17, here in town. Then you started writing about northern Minnesota and the North Shore, and now I'm not so sure. "Light hiking" -- if and when you pass through the Twin Cities, it's really worth your while to stop off and see Minnehaha Falls. There are a number of trails around the falls, nothing that would constitute major hiking (which may disappoint you -- although you can get onto the paved trails down Minnehaha Creek easily enough) but they'll give you a chance to see the falls from every possible side and angle. And please give Louie and me a call (or an e-mail the previous day) as we'd like to see you.

Re: Minnesota wedding
It is the same wedding -- I don't meant to be cryptic but I'll keep the details private unless they specifically say it's OK to talk about it.
If I can make the trip longer than just the minimum for the wedding, I would love to spend an evening with you, but if I end up not taking an extended trip, I will probably be ride-sharing with Art, and he has to work Friday and Monday so my time in Minneapolis would be very limited.
I failed to mention it in the main post, but while I do have reservations at the Motel 6 for the wedding, if I could crash at someone's house that would be a better option for me. I need a room to myself, but (at least if I am driving myself) I can bring a cot so I don't need a bed.
