Butterfly news

After two frosty nights in the last three days, there will be very few butterflies until next spring, but almost the first thing I saw when I walked outside on my walk this morning was a Monarch on some asters.  They've been very rare this year; I can count on both hands the number of times I've seen one on my morning walks, and I've only seen a few farther afield.

The turning of the year can be a bit depressing, even with the really nice days the fall can bring.
