EFRC news: RIP Menelik
There was no EFRC Report this week because I didn't actually work, but I did stop in on the way home from Dave's memorial and visit.  There was sad news: Menelik had died.  Back on March 4 she had been having some trouble, and I was worried.

She was a sibling of the four circus tigers, but she was permanently separated from them because she fought with her sisters.  She wasn't especially friendly, and we didn't have a strong bond.  But it always hurts to lose a tiger.

I took this picture the last time I saw her, because I was somewhat worried that it would be the last time I saw her and I wanted to have a picture.

Love your icon - I don't think I've noticed it before! (Sorry to hear about Menelik, though. *hug*)

Losing any size cat is so hard, and with tigers being rare is that much worse. And she really does look sad. Too bad she had to die without her sisters to comfort her.

I can give you a hug in a week and a half. Did you decide about visiting any animal places in Ontario before going back?

It's not set in stone, but it didn't seem like there was anything that really made sense to do at this time of year. I'm trying to hoard my vacation time right now until I know whether the trip to South Africa will really happen.
