We planned to skip the Celtic Tenors based on the assumption that they would be singing operatically. As I quipped and others agreed, "I'm sure they have lovely voices, but they're using them wrong." I seem to have misplaced my program, but I think they were rained out anyway.

They're a crossover band; they get flack from the opera lovers, too. ;-)

They have some elements of opera in their voices - James shows this the strongest - but they tone it down to more "popular" sounds, but maintain the strength, control and vibrancy that training has given them. They do a rather bizarre mixture of stuff; I think I prefer when they do everything but Irish pub songs, because those sound the most incongruous to my ear. They're very much a music theater sort of band, but that can be a lot of fun to watch.

Did you happen to see the write-up I did on them from Dublin for their fan club? Granted, very little of that actually covered the concert itself....
