FNM: Hardened scales

A couple of tweaks to the deck, and I did well until the last round when my deck pooped out, so I had a second place finish.

2 Abzan Falconer
1 Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit
4 Avatar of the Resolute +2, just got them
1 Collected Company -1, it just doesn't really work for me
1 Den Protector finally found the one that's not in an EDH deck
4 Dromoka's Command
4 Hangarback Walker
4 Hardened Scales
2 Heir of the Wilds -1, cut for Avatar
3 Inspiring Call -1, cut for Avatar
3 Managorger Hydra
4 Servant of the Scale
2 Surrak, the Hunt Caller
1 Winds of Qal Sima
1 Undergrowth Champion

2 Canopy Vista
10 Forest
5 Plains
4 Windswept Heath
2 Wooded Foothills

2 Abzan Battle Priest +2 These, here in the board, are the life gain I need
2 Feat of Resistance
0 Forest -1
2 Hidden Dragonslayer +2, seems useful
2 Silkwrap +2, for when I just have to have removal
2 Valorous Stance +2
2 Whisperwood Elemental +1, 1 is silly
2 Winds of Qal Sima
1 Windstorm -1

Round 1, I played Tom Trumpinski. He was running the BFZ event deck, I think out of the box, and he says it's a new deck and he's still learning how to play it. 3 mulligans over 2 games didn't hurt me enough to keep me from winning. Round 2, Levi Gatewood was playing a red/green landfall deck. I never saw any fetches or Atarka's Command. He took the first game as I couldn't really do anything, but I took the next two. Round 3, Joe Izaguirre was playing a blue/green ramp into Eldrazi deck. His lack of answers meant that I could run him over before he could hurt me. Round 4, I faced Justin Kessel who was also 3-0. I offered a draw, but although his tiebreaks were a hair better than mine going into the round, he thought that they could change if my opponents did better in the round than he did, so we played. He was playing Esper control. Game 1, I flooded out, got him to 1 life but couldn't finish him as he played Ugin. Game 2, I kept a hand with 2 Forests and missed several drops. I got him down to 4, but he stole my 4/4 Hangarback with Dragonlord Silumgar, which he subsequently turned into 5 chump blockers, which guaranteed I couldn't get through as he played Ugin and then beat me down. I'd offered the draw because my opponent's match win percentage was awful after round 3, but facing Justin brought it up enough that I ended up taking second anyway.

I'm not sure what I can learn from my loss other than that I need to draw better hands. I feel like I was close both games in spite of stumbling badly, so maybe the matchup is good enough.

I did trade for the 4th Managorger Hydra after the match. I think I'm going to drop the last Collected Company, and then go down to 22 lands and add a Become Immense. Maybe put the Collected Companys into the board instead of Whisperwood, which will be pretty hard to cast with only 22 land.
